What would your life be like without music?
Every decade of my life is marked by the music that came blaring out of the radio that was seemingly always on. The sixties provided a transition from swing to rock and roll, while several in my family listened to nothing but country music. The seventies provided the best music that has ever been made, in my opinion, and toward the end of the decade, some of the very worst. Thank goodness disco did not live a long life. The eighties gave us long hair bands, very loud rock, and MTV. It also gave us a sound that made much of that decades music sound very similar. Beyond that Tom Petty became my family’s favorite, and there was a lot of incredible music that came out of the eighties. The last thirty years gave us so much, digital compressed bootlegged Napster music that went legal and I held a subscription for years. Even after they became Rhapsody, until I finally gave it up for XM radio, and then SiriusXM, and Apple Music. We all cried when we heard that Tom Petty died. What do you think my life would be like? I think it would be a little sadder.

Moments for smooth jazz, moments for Argentine tangos, days of rock’n roll, times for ballads sung by John Denver, Middle Eastern folk songs…but just not ever got used to like Italian opera’s.
