I always hated math, or arithmetic, as we called it when I started school in the first grade. I think my first math problem ever, way back in 1961, was 1+1=2. In almost sixty years that’s never changed. Right now, in preschool somewhere in the middle of you can’t get there from here, some underpaid teacher is teaching some sweet child the very same thing, 1+1=2. It’s easy to prove too.

Little Johnny has 1 apple and Sally gives Johnny 1 apple. Little Johnny has 2 apples, you can see them plain as day.

Little Wayne, way back then from day one, nailed it. From the very beginning of time, until Jesus returns, all the way through eternity, one plus one will always equal two. Now here’s the thing… let’s say you disagree,… and what right do I have, to tell you what to believe?… you are certain that 1+1=3, and you have a large group to back you up, that thinks just like you do. We now live in a time when right is the loudest voice.

But I know that some things are true forever…

Time is very deceptive. Awhile back becomes a few decades, so I will be as specific as memory will allow.

In February or March, 2002, our family moved to a new house in Clarksville Tennessee. Other than the water and electric, the first thing I had connected was satellite tv. The installer was a very talkative man who had married a woman from Venezuela. I spent the next hour or so being lectured about this storybook place, and how awful we have it here. I remember wondering at the time, why he wasn’t there instead of here. I have thought of him many times over the years. Hugo Chavez was this magnificent socialist leader that was being looked down on here, in this greedy self-centered country. All the while, his hero, Chavez, was stripping that oil rich utopia, like a drunken sailor. Please feel free to look this guy up on Wikipedia, you may recognize a few words being thrown around right here in our country. He plunged his country into poverty in about ten years. Hugo Chavez fooled an entire country. In 2013 he died, but his socialism did not die with him.

February 22,2019. This movement that started twenty years earlier because of economic inequality, has made everyone equal. Everyone is living in poverty and fear. Humanitarian aid has been sent to the people who are dying from starvation, but this socialist utopia will not allow its people to be fed. the saddest thing you will ever see are those packing crates filled with food and medicine, sitting on the border, set ablaze by socialist jack boots… because their government wont let supplies in, and while the children are dying, solders are killing people trying to leave. What would they tell us about the freedom we spit on here?

This socialism that our youth is so fond of, will surly take us somewhere, and this is the group most pliable, and everyone knows that the greatest economic inequality is among this group, comparing themselves to their parents. The rich, on the other hand, are made to be evil.

My pastor preached long ago, something that stuck to my bones forever, and from memory, goes something like this…

Sin will always take you farther than you planned on going, keep you longer than you planned on staying, and cost you more than you planned on paying. Amen

That’s how I feel about socialism. I am terrified of it. These new socialist are wolves, and they are right here, right now, preaching the same damnation that all the others through the past century and a half have preached, but in my heart I know the truth.

1+1=2.
