Now that it’s fashionable again to bash the president I suppose it is appropriate to look at the elephant in the room, no pun intended. There is a mandate to erase everything that Obama has done. It will happen or in two years there will be retribution. If you would step into my Wayback machine and go with me to ancient Egypt, there was a pharaoh who set out to radically change everything Egyptian, fundamental change if you will. Everyone has their space of time and he used his space to change his people’s gods. Changed where they worshiped. He changed their art. He was the Progressive of his time. Like with all progressives, the people eventually figured it out. And like all people eventually his space of time ran out. Once that happened all the talk about his legacy went right out the window. The movement to make Egypt great again rolled out a plan to completely eradicate this guy from the records. Egypt actually did this to a couple folks and one of them was even a woman. Can you imagine being considered a God one day and a week later they’re grinding your face off of a statue? Now let’s get back into the Wayback machine and return to the present. Here we have somebody that for eight years actually did fundamentally change us from adults into babies. From the middle class to no class. From a superpower to a country that everyone loves to negotiate with. Idle hands are the devil’s playground and all you have to do is turn the news on as soon as it’s dark you can see the playground live on TV. It is a simple thing to take off a black lives matter t-shirt and put on an anarchy t-shirt. It’s the same team, different Jersey. It’s not Team America. So the process of erasing the last eight years has begun. It began with giving Republicans the House and Senate for another two years. It began with most of America rejecting the progressive agenda of the past and handing the White House to an anti candidate. It is important to understand that nothing has actually been done yet but the population is not going to be very patient. The main problem that I see moving forward is that there are two sets of facts. Each side is certain their facts are correct and the other side’s facts are wrong and each side can fact check what they believe. On this matter I believe the most dangerous lie is the one that can be told sprinkled with facts. Under almost every system, I have noticed that the successful people are the ones that work hard and sacrifice. I do not understand the mindset that sets out to punish this group of people. These people are the backbone of our country. Here’s where the two different sets of facts come in , this group of people can probably give you a list of ways that they are disadvantaged but depending on your politics the blame is going to be placed in different directions and that’s okay. Let’s just start with the basic fact that success is punished. Make a list of what is hindering you and tell me how your side will make it better. How will the other side make it worse? Most people can’t pull this little exercise off. It requires thinking and most people deal with talking points. Now be honest. On your list, can the other side make anything better? Did you say no? If you did say no you can understand the chasm that separates us. We must close this gap. The other side loves their families just as much as you love yours. We do not have a party stamp on our foreheads. I have been screaming for so long to find your values. Know who you are. These political parties have no soul. Don’t sell your soul to be part of them. I hate movements that I honestly feel are destructive to this country that my children and grandchildren will make a life in. I don’t hate individuals. I am not part of either of the two major political parties. These are the ramblings of a man that’s lived long enough to see the world change and then change again. I remember a time when God was in our homes. Maybe if we invite Him back we can get all this other stuff right. Family by family, community by community. I hope so.
