What if you were swimming in the gulf and found yourself drifting farther away from the beach, but plenty close enough to make it back in, so you continued to swim and enjoy yourself? The lifeguard is trying to get your attention because he knows you are in peril, but you ignore him because you’re certain that you are fine. You’ve been out there awhile and ignoring every warning but the lifeguard sends someone out on a seadoo to bring you in. I don’t need you, I am fine on my own. Leave me alone. You will never get on that seedoo because you have no comprehension that without that ride, you don’t have the ability to get to shore. Now let’s use that very same scenario except now that lifeguard has proven to you that you are on the verge of drowning. Now all of a sudden you’re aware of your surroundings and see your true condition. Are you getting on that seadoo? Sure you are, and not later. Not next week, but right now. I firmly believe that salvation is just like that. I have to try to get you the information that you need but unless your condition is revealed to you, the information is useless to you. The truth is that many are not hopelessly on the verge of drowning at sea, but rather hopelessly separated from the Creator of the Universe…. And they can’t see the reality that’s right there, right in front of them. My prayer is that eyes will be opened. The way to safety is right there as well.
