Sometimes there are questions that overwhelm me. I don’t have all the answers. Sometimes the best I can do is rationalize things until they fit in the most logical explanation. Right now I will say the hard thing. There are many who just can’t make it fit. They will never make it fit, and knowing that makes me sad. I have never understood the inability of some folks to see creation. They see randomness where I see order. They deny a Creator but quickly point to evil and question why a creator that they don’t believe in would allow such bad things to happen. Another question they raise is why do evil people so often prosper and why do good people have to suffer? I believe  that is actually a good question, and is asked several times in scripture. Looking around me, and seeing the hardships that many around me are having, and through no fault of their own that I can see, let me ask that question a different way, because although there are a lot of folks that I would consider good, I don’t set the bar very high. Our Creator however thinks we all fall short. Let’s start with acknowledging that our good is not honestly all that good. So why do Christians have to go through most of the same hardships that nonbelievers do? My thinking is that if Christians had an easy life, everyone would be a Christian. Heck yes, wouldn’t that be great? I don’t think it would be. I don’t think it would be real. Everyone would identify as a Christian because of what they might benefit from the relationship. Remember when Jesus fed the multitude? They followed him around for what they could get, and Jesus said as much. Christianity is more than your next free meal. I don’t think most of us will ever know exactly why we are here until our life is over, but I think we are here to help pull others into the boat that have no idea they are drowning. It is very hard to help someone who doesn’t believe that they need help. I need to spend more time doing exactly the one thing that I dread the most, risk rejection. As far as good and evil go, I see an uneasiness amongst people, and I feel it too. Something’s coming and while many people can feel it, too many are too easily lead around by distraction. They can’t find the truth. They have lived their lives in darkness, and the ruler of this world wants to keep it that way. It is time to walk away from politics and focus on eternity. I believe that eternity is long but time is short.
