Part of what I do here is record a small glimpse of history through my eyes. This glimpse is filled with the taint of my world view. With that in mind, here is my hillbilly logic on Russia, Ukraine, Europe, and the US. For a bonus, I will throw in China along with North Korea.

As I see it, Putin wants Ukraine at all costs. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have gone in. We think in twenty-four-month increments, Russia doesn’t have to worry about things like that. This has been planned out, and they will damn well see it to an end. There is no way to stop Russia from taking Ukraine, not without Europe entering this war. At that point, it becomes a world war. Putin knows it and so does everybody in Europe. I now hear that Poland is letting Ukrainian fighter jets use their airbases. A NATO country is providing airfields for planes that are attacking Russians. We have got to get the **** out of NATO or we are going to get drawn into yet another European war. We will never do that, so we have to hope and pray Russia stops at Poland’s border. The scariest thing to someone who ponders things like these are unintended consequences. There is not a single country in Europe that can be trusted, not one. Europe has its own agenda. Let Europe do what they have done for centuries. We are broke, war weary and ready for a major ass whipping, and that is a painful thing to believe about a country you love. My fear in all this is that our military is being led by people who are incompetent. It is a hard thing to wonder if the apocalypse’s second horseman’s first stop just might be Ukraine. One thing I left out until now is that Russia has threatened to use nuclear weapons twice, and the news has talked about nuclear war more in the last few days than they ever did during the cold war.

And what if Putin goes unpunished? China is watching. North Korea is watching. Everybody is watching to see what will happen and who will overextend.

Unintended consequences….
