I have always heard that for many around us, Christmas was a sad, hard, and depressing time. I never really understood how celebrating the birth of Christ could be anything other than happy and uplifting. There are a good many things that I didn’t understand as a young man that my Creator has revealed to me as I grow older. My oldest sister was about two and a half years younger than me, and she just missed her first Thanksgiving with our family ever. I missed several while stationed over seas, but Sheila Faye was always there. She’s going to miss Christmas too, and sometimes the pain of that is smothering to those of us she left behind. This was certainly her time of year, and even though she is spending this Christmas in Heaven, she is spending the season right here in our hearts, and in our minds, memories and tears, laughter and all.

Jesus, please give her a hug from all of us, and we will see her soon.

Merry Christmas in Heaven Sheila.
