In a world of air conditioners and electronics, it’s hard to get people out of the house anymore. I think the very things that most of us consider a life of comfort, actually imprison us in many ways. It becomes easier to say no thank you to some of the most exhilarating experiences that begin on the other side of the door that holds that AC around you. While I will admit that as I get older, it becomes more of a struggle to do almost everything, there is still so many experiences out there, so it’s out the door for me!

We have had our grandsons for a week and one of the things I promised them was a canoe trip, so guess what? We went on an all day canoe trip with a seven year old and a three year old! Between the dancing, jumping from side to side and all the other things two active and energetic imaginations can bring to a trip on the river, we only capsized once! Our oldest grandson said that it was the most funnest part of the trip, and it was when we were maybe thirty minutes from getting off the river! You know it is a successful trip when they are talking about doing it again next summer. Thanks to my brother-in-law and great friend JJ who guided our little expedition on the Green River at Mammoth Cave National Park!

I will be ready!
