We shop at one grocery chain and the aisles are so narrow and people cause roadblocks in the aisles and you end up bagging your own groceries, and it’s so crowded. And then you have to take your own groceries out to your car…. and to top it all off,you have to bring your cart back. I don’t suppose you have to bring it back but you have an investment in the damn thing. So you do. Bring it back. Then you get into your car and can’t stop talking about how happy you are about the four dollars you saved. I know that I had to work for that four dollars but all I can think about is how happy I am.
Aldi’s.
Then we also shop at this awesome place and they also have ever shrinking aisles where two carts cannot pass and you meet your neighbor over in produce and this very person who lives three houses down the road from you that you won’t hardly wave at when you pass them cutting grass in the front yard, talks your head off for ten minutes while the poor lady behind you waits patiently for those two sweet potatoes that you are standing in front of. Then you also end up bagging your own groceries, after you ring them up…. wheel them out to your car, put them bags in the back seat and take that cart to an acceptable location and head on back to your car. Happy never enters your mind. I know what you’re thinking, I did everything except stock the shelves.
Rhymes with Tall Smart.
If we are being honest, the second store is a much better store but people hate shopping there. Aldi’s is a tiny store that has a sale on a few things and people have done everything except write a song about how awesome it is. Why?
On that song thing…. anything Randy Newman would work for them except maybe Short People.
Expectations. Aldi’s tells you right from the beginning why you do the silly little cart thing. Hey friends, we’re trying to save you some money. We do everything that we do to keep costs down. Is that the real reason why? Does it matter? We believe it is why.
Now with the bigger chain store, I just feel like they are filled with good people and ran by a corporation that has two goals in life. Buy Chinese and make sure that I never shop anywhere else. I don’t shop there to save money. I shop there because they have put most everybody else out of business. Is it true? Well, the last part is, for sure.
If they had a song, it would be one they imported …. most likely from China.
