It finally happened to me. I knew that sooner or later it would, but it is still a little scary to experience hate first hand. Remember how dangerous it was and how brave you had to be to wear a Hillary t-shirt? I don’t either, but it is getting more dangerous everyday to support our president.

So, my phone rings and it’s all fun and games. We are laughing and joking and having a great time. All the laughter is about how dumb the people are who voted for our president, knowing that I voted for him. So I’m just laughing and playing along and waiting for an opportunity to voice my opinion and here it comes, in slow motion, a fastball right over the plate, and I’m ready, so I said,” I love everything that the president has done so far.”

Let me just say this about that …. sometimes stereotypes are true.

I think that he thought that I said that I shot your dog and stole your car.

Then after the anger calmed down and the cursing stopped, I said,” By the time Trump is finished with his first year, it will be like Obama never existed.”

Well, I can’t tell you what he said after that but what I said was,” You and me are the perfect example of our country today. Every time we don’t get our way, we try to inform and enlighten and every time you guys don’t get your way, you call us names and curse us and threaten us with violence. And now apparently it’s OK to just start shooting us.”

But the mortal blow was when I asked him what was one thing that the president had done that had made him so mad. “Everything”, is just simply an uninformed answer.

Well, the moral of this story is …. If you call me, there are two things that we can’t talk about and one of them is the New England Patriots.
