Nothing can prepare you for the Grand Canyon. Not the size, not the beauty or the realization that even though you are there, looking at all this with your own eyes, it looks like a picture. One last thing before I leave you with some of the pictures. The altitude is high here and we spent the night before in a beautiful lodge. My breathing was not good but I never made the connection that it might be anything other than a week and a half of traveling in a vehicle. Apparently I don’t do well at altitudes over 6,000 ft. or so! As soon as we came down to about 4200 ft. I was fine and yes I know that sounds crazy.

Everywhere we went was beautiful and now it was time to go home but Sheila had one more destination in mind first!

Six thousand miles in thirteen days, traveling interstates, highways, back roads, and even route 66…. we all pretty much agreed that we will be doing this again. Maybe the east coast next time, or the west coast, who can say?
