I have been a part of two demonstrations in my life. In both cases the people around me were polite and well behaved. One lasted for two days and one of my daughters also wanted to participate. The local newspaper took pictures and she is the subject of one of the photos. We got to know several of the people and when it was over we went home. No one set anything on fire.Nobody shouted obscenities, broke windows out or was disrespectful in any way and police were never called and nobody went to jail. Did we make a difference? Sure we did because we took a stand for what we believed. Did it change the outcome? No it did not and we didn’t act like a band of pirates, burning, raping and pillaging to get our way and further alienate ourselves. I actually heard CNN bring up a speech that I blogged about maybe a month or so ago. Lincoln’s” house divided” speech. I can see this like a slow moving train. We wrestle not with flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of Darkness of this world. Now would be a good time to put on the armor of God. Righteous people do not behave this way and it cannot be defended. Do not give up The High Ground but to both sides, violence invites violence and I can only wonder what the motive behind the violence might be.
