I started writing last night on something that I titled “Seven Days.” It was fairly long and I finally came to a point of enough. Enough reasons why your guy was bad and why my guy will be good. As a libertarian, I don’t believe in good guys, not in Washington. I rolled it into an electronic ball and tossed it into the wastebasket where it belongs. I know many out there are afraid of what lays ahead. I am too. I know many that were afraid of how far we would fall over the last eight years. So was I. If you think things are great now, stop reading because you are either dishonest or delusional. Either way, this is not for you. If you think everything is going to be awesome now, you should leave for the same reason. I am optimistic, not because of one party or another but because of us. They love each other but we love us. We are many and that terrifies them. that’s why they divide us. Nothing in this world would make me happier than for my family and friends to be happy. You must surely feel the same way and ideology is never a factor.

So now it is down to six days and I promise you that this guy , like the last guy will fail us. Congress will, over the next four years, regardless of which party has control, break our heart. I hope that I am wrong and maybe, just maybe, but time will tell. Life will change dramatically for some of us over the next few years simply because we are growing older and that realization alone should be enough to bring us together. For all that we are alike ,there are some things that make us different and those are the things that will be used by others to incite anger and hate. We fall for it every time. Whatever the group, the formula never changes. Ever. The person or group will be stupid, ignorant, dishonest, evil, greedy, racist bigot who hates children and the elderly. This is the buffet that we will be eating from unless we stand together. They are counting on us never looking at the facts and seeing that both sides are failing us.

I am growing tired. But I am optimistic.
