A house divided against itself cannot stand. We cannot continue on this path. It is almost impossible to read anything written by anyone and take it at face value. Everything is agenda driven. I am a reasonable person. I love listening to views that differ with mine. What I don’t like is listening to the same talking points over and over again. If you venture beyond your fears that are based entirely on speculation we can make progress. I am 100% finished talking about Hillary Clinton. That is one train ride that is over and I am pretty proud to say that I voted against her. Even though I believe she was the most dishonest person to run for the White House in my lifetime and maybe ever, I have my own fears about Trump. It reminds me of a book I read as a child called” The Three Sillies”. I won’t get into the story but the point is that so many are worried about things that may never happen. He has no record.
I am in a unique position here. I am not a republican or democrat. I believe Trump’s main problem is that he is liberal. I don’t care for liberal ideology as we know it today and I think he is pretending to be something he’s not. Time will tell. Maybe I am wrong. My questions start with this. Why is it wrong to protect your borders? Why is it wrong to want people who are here illegally to leave? Why is it wrong to want everyone who chooses to live here to blend into our society? And what happened to the melting pot? Why is it wrong to oppose Sharia law? I have more why’s and I am sure you do too. Having said that, here is a path I will not go down, not one step. The path that sets out to attach every “ism” and “phobia” to everyone connected to the Trump White House. Also, to call a successful billionaire businessman who just crushed the Clinton machine stupid is kind of, well, stupid don’t you think? Liberals have been using this “stupid” strategy for as far back as I can remember. I am very interested in knowing what your biggest fears of Trump being in the White House are. I have been trolling liberal political blogs and most of the concerns are identical word for word to my concerns one day before the election. I feel that now we are living in an electronic age dominated by professional manipulators that keeps us scurrying into our opposite corners, forever regrouping for the next battle while they reap the rewards of our pointless never-ending desire to crush the other side. The only way to understand each other is through honest discussion. To both sides, these that you belittle are your family. They are your coworkers and your friends. Painfully, I admit that I have thrown as many rocks as you. More. Unless something changes, I don’t see anything positive in our future. I am sick of the half truthed screaming from both sides. It is time for honesty and listening for everyone. Everyone. here were my concerns going into election night and from what you are writing, our fears are not that different.
My fear:
1. War
2. Conservatism is dead.
3. Our country try will evolve into something different through the rulings of a liberal Supreme Court.
4. We will be swallowed by our federal government.
5. Clinton is a socialist.
6. We will lose our right to bear arms.
Your fear:
1. War.
2. Liberalism is dead.
3. Our country has changed forever.
4. We are going to become nationalists.
5. Trump is a fascist.
6. Trump is a racist.
What did I leave out? I am aware that some believe Trump will start rounding citizens up and placing them in internment camps. Really? Somebody needs a hug. Trump is no FDR. In 1858 Lincoln gave his now famous HOUSE DIVIDED speech. In this speech he said that the house would become all one thing, or all the other. At that time the thing dividing us was slavery. I think it is the same thing dividing us today. We are all becoming slaves of a federal system that we no longer control. If we truly will become all one thing or all the other, which do you prefer? I am choosing freedom.
